If you're having problems with the drains in your home, read through the following information:
Clogged Toilets
Most toilet clogs can easily be resolved with a home plunger. Flush your toilet once and then, use a plunger to create suction over the toilet drain. Pump vigorously to dislodge anything stuck in the system.
Sinks and Showers
If a sink or shower clogs, you can also use a plunger to move the clog. Repeat the same process detailed above. If the problem reoccurs, due to hair or other debris, consider installing drain traps to keep your drains clear.
Please do not use harsh chemicals to clean your drain. This may damage your plumbing system.
If you lose electrical power in your rental home, call your utility company. Your outage may be a temporary problem caused by bad weather or felled lines, or there may be a problem with your account.
You can also check your power breaker to ensure the breaker is in the ON position.
If you lose hot water access in your property, check the settings on your water heater. Some newer models may include a reset button, which allows you to cycle the system. You can also verify that the pilot light is lit.
After modifying settings or resetting the tank, wait at least 20 minutes before testing the water temperature again.
If you lose heat or air conditioning in your property, verify that the settings of your home's main thermostat are still correct. You may also want to call your utility company to ensure there are no problems with your account.
If you're in an emergency situation and feel like your life is in danger, call 911 for immediate help.
